The city of hills was founded in 13th century is still a picturesque town set amongst the rugged peaks of the Aravali mountains. Udai Bilas Palace nestled in idyllic splendour of the blue waters of Gaib Sagar Lake on one side and cove of private reserve forest on other, it is embodiment of world charm of princely India. Ek Thambia Mahal (Literally one pillared palace) is the famous court yard of the Udai Bilas Palace. Juna Mahal the old palace almost as old as the town itself. Inside one will see the most colourful and vibrant palaces embellished with frescoes, miniature paintings, glass and mirror inlay work. Still owned by Royal family Juna Mahal can be visited on invitation.

The 14th century old temple of Rsihabdeoji noted for its itricate carvings and precious stone studded idol of Lord Kesaryaji on Dungarpur - Udaipur road. Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary encloses a 423 Sq. km forest area which abounds in bird and animal life near Dungarpur.

Jaisamand Sanctuary spreads around Jaisamand Lake which is one of the larges artificial lake in India and the Baba Island Resort in between the lake on Banswar - Udaipur road. Shyamlaji near Dungarpur toward Ahmadabad (Gujarat), is famous pilgrimage centre. Sailana Palace and the beautiful Cactus Garden near Bhanswara towards Ratlam (M.P.) is worth visiting
